Sometimes you meet people who make you wonder whether adulthood is less of a qualification and more of an honor-system arrangement. They’re late, broke, emotionally on fire, and somehow calling you from an airport they weren’t supposed to be at.

I made this piece for those magnificent human trainwrecks—the friends and relatives we keep because apparently love means accepting someone who treats stability like a suspicious email attachment. Then there are the romantic ones. The charming little catastrophes you eventually release back into the wild because relationships, tragically, do not come with errors-and-omissions coverage.
