I’ve never considered myself especially complicated. Feed me, touch me, let me sleep, or make me laugh. That covers most of the operating system.

But beneath all that primitive machinery, there’s one thing I value more than I probably know how to say properly.

Peace.

Not boredom. Not silence for the sake of silence. The kind of peace that makes the world feel less urgent. The kind that lets your shoulders drop and reminds you that not every moment needs to be conquered, optimized, or posted online with an inspirational quote.

Most people have to find that place alone.

I was fortunate enough to meet someone who brings it with her. She serves peace like a homemade meal—without spectacle, without instructions, and somehow exactly when it’s needed.

She was the lead actress in my mind while I created this original one-of-one.

The piece has since found its home. But inspiration has a habit of reproducing when nobody is supervising it.
